How we help!

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) has helped millions of Canadians, but having coverage doesn’t always mean dentures are affordable.

• 37% of CDCP patients who received care still face financial barriers, because CDCP fees are set below the actual cost of care. [1]
• 50% of complete preauthorization requests are denied, and only 17% of dentists say most of the care they recommend is covered. [1]
• The CDCP isn’t free care. Patients may pay co-payments, plus extra charges when a service costs more than the CDCP’s set fees. [2] [3]
• Cost is a significant barrier to oral health care for nearly half of people eligible for the CDCP. [4]

First Denturist Foundation helps close this gap for people in our community.

Basic requirements

To qualify, you must meet all of the requirements below.

1. You live in British Columbia.
2. You’re 18 or older.
3. You have a valid BC health card and are in good standing with BC Services.
4. You’re in good standing with the CRA and your tax filings are up to date.

Our New Dentures Coverage requirements

5. You have a low income.
6. You haven’t had new dentures in the last five years. (Condition Apply)
7. You have not Exiting Denturist in last 2 years. (Condition Apply)

Documents required

8. Photo ID and your BC health card.
9. Your latest Notice of Assessment from the CRA.
